To log-in to take a test, you will need a proctor password authorized by the State Fire Marshal's office. All applicants must schedule an appointment to take the test. Contact the Division of Fire Safety at (802) 479-7561 to schedule an appointment to take the test.

Each test is composed of 100 questions that will be presented to you in blocks of 10 questions at a time. Questions related to NFPA Standards were created using the 2002 Editions of NFPA 13, NFPA 20, NFPA 24, and NFPA 25. The test also includes some questions related to basic math and construction industry practices.

Be sure to enter your contact information correctly since it will be sent to the state for processing after submitting your test.

You must answer 70 percent of the questions correctly to Pass. If you fail, you must wait 30 days before you can take the test again.
